I haven't done anything to my hair since July of 2011. This isn't really about the hair, as much as it is what it represents. Me, not taking care of me.
I have heard it said many places that parenting kids with trauma, requires your to put your oxygen mask on first, before you are able to give them theirs...yet, all of us trauma mommas, have a really hard time doing that. We see our child in crisis and we act, and keep acting and keep advocating, helping, redirecting, and days or months go by before we realize, we never put our own oxygen mask on.
This was a tangible, visible act reminding myself to put on my mask so that I can help the kids put on theirs.

Your beauty shines through. Every day.
This makes me miss my long curly hair! You look amazing...always do...your beauty shines with the love in your eyes. Way to go in "putting on your oxygen mask". You deserve it and you look amazing! Love you sister.
Beautiful!
I can so relate. I have been OVERWHELMED with parenting challenges this past year ... and have watched my weight go up and up and up. So not fun. So not good. So not healthy. Ugh!
Thankful that you took time for Takin' Care of Mama. That is definitely my goal for the coming year.
Hope your week is BLESSED!
