The extra day....

Did you make a new years resolution? Maybe a list of goals for 2012, possibly a bucket list? The statistics say you probably have already broken it, if not given up on it completely...

You have a full extra day this year. Yes, it would be more fun if it happened to be a Saturday or Sunday, if you didn't have work or school, but it is a full, new, bonus day none the less.

I say dance in it, hug it, sing loudly and off key with it, cry in it...just BE in it. Be present, be mindful that everyday is a gift, and February 29th is an extra one this year.

Take this extra day to catch your breath, motivate yourself, be kind to yourself, clean off the computer desk and reread that list of goals you wrote last December. Do not scold yourself for giving up on resolution, but reward yourself for not giving up on the year, there is still so much more to come. Be present, Be mindful, Be filled with purpose.

Enjoy your extra day by forgiving yourself and moving forward with mindful purpose and those that support you.

One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us.
