As of January 2009 we became a family of six as we brought home our 2 (deaf) Ethiopian sons! January 2010 our 3rd daughter was born and now we are a family of 7! What a blessing! Jillian is a freelance American Sign Language(ASL) Interpreter but primarily a stay-at-home mom. Ashley is a Combat Engineer for the Marine Corps. This is a little of our journey!

$60,000--$75,000...

is what we would need to finish out Vivace's stay at his RTC after the insurance times out (150 day limit, no exceptions). Everyone in Vivace's circle realize he needs more time, a few more months...insurance has a very strict 150 day limit. Even if the child is a known threat to himself and others....150 days is the limit.
Wednesday he earned a reward! He was able to go on a communications field trip to McDonald's and learn how to be independent, appropriately order his own food. He kept it together a few days to be able to go, but as soon as the reward was no longer dangling like a carrot, he immediately went back to violence and breaking rules. That is his norm: hold it together for a few days or a week to gain a reward, then loses it completely without active cause. He did this when the school staff verbally praised him for his work in school, next day he was wrecking the classroom.

Yes, I am praying to THE Healer...but, Vivace has to want it. I don't think he does yet. Right now he is too violent to come home, yet the insurance deadline is looming...what are families like ours suppose to do?? Really? What?!?

Unfortunately, there are many families like our situation. Believing for restoring and preparing to protect the other children, fighting for services that we can't afford....

...pray for all of us.

I am just speechless over this...but God is bigger, so I'll just remain speechless and just pray.

So, so sad.

So, so hard.

What are we all to do?

We had to disrupt the adoption of 1 son, in order to protect our 5 younger children. But, we still have a daughter at home with RAD. I wonder how long we can survive her outbursts.

I don't know if you've read my friend Sarah's blog: http://ourhaitianjourney.blogspot.com/
but she is walking a VERY difficult journey, always looking for the answer, always advocating for her daughter, always doing all that she can to protect her other children.

Praying that you can take some time to focus on the JOY of having your sweet husband home.

prayers and hugs Jillian. I hope it all works out. Wendy just got back from visiting Danny at Wolf Creek this weekend. She said it was a good visit, but exhausting. He has slipped some since he got there, but we are still praying.
